Damon is a freelance photographer based in Central Scotland. His journey into photography started fortuitously after watching a documentary about Eastern European youths who had discovered a love for Soviet film cameras and would take to the streets to have fun and experiment without feeling the need to follow the traditional rules of photography. Damon found that photography gave him an outlet and an avenue to be creative. It opened up doors and became a tool to improve his mental health. Photography became much more than a hobby in that it enabled him to connect with people where he had often felt disconnected and helped him to view the world around him differently.

Damon's primary photographic focus is street photography and portraiture. He is attracted to film because it offers grain and texture that can scarcely be emulated digitally and renders a permanence and a timeless quality to an image. He has grown to appreciate the subtleties of different film stocks, the way they render light and colour, their characteristics as well as imperfections. Using film has taught him to be methodical, present with his subject and frugal with each and every frame.
